This idea I actually stumbled across on Pinterest! I loved the anchor chart that this teacher came up with to help her students add more to their writing. This serves as a good visual for students to use to help strengthen their stories. Most of my students write basic stories with no real meat to them. I loved the idea of “digging deeper” to make stories more interesting. Today we drew this chart and discussed using “sparkle” words in our writing. Sparkle words (or adjectives) make our stories more appealing to the audience. This can especially be used with higher level thinking children. If they are ready to move on to writing more complex sentences, this chart will guide them in their thinking. I have found a lot of creative anchor charts on Pinterest, I suggest checking it out!
